Announcing the Coney Island Museum's New Intern

The 2022 Coney Island Museum Internship has been awarded to June Benich

“My name's June, I'm graduating in May 2023 from Pratt Institute's School of Information, where I'm focusing in archives and community building. My focus as an archivist lies in places without institution backing, where the history of the area deserves more attention than it's getting. Coney Island is an underserved neighborhood with so much historic presence in the city. It's the historic location of Luna Park, Steeplechase Park, and Dreamland at the turn of the twentieth century, it's where the Warriors are asked to come out to play. That's why I'm so excited to be working with the Coney Island Museum to catalog their existing collection!”
